Netflix is hosting an open casting call for extras in The Abandons, an 1850s western TV series that started filming in Calgary and surrounding areas this month.
On May 30th, a casting call was held at Stoney Nakoda Resort & Casino. Indigenous men, women and children from Alberta were encouraged to apply.
The Abandons plans on shooting throughout the Calgary area until October. The TV series stars Game of Thrones actress Lena Headey and The X-Files Gillian Anderson, and was created & produced by showrunner Kurt Sutter (Sons of Anarchy, Mayans M.C.).
