Enoch Cree Nation is moving forward with a major housing development that will prepare land for approximately 166 new homes in collaboration with the Canada Infrastructure Bank (CIB) after reaching a financial close on the $30 million dollar loan towards enabling infrastructure for the housing development project, helping address a housing waitlist of around 350 families and creating more opportunities for members to live in their home community.
Enoch Cree Nation Chief Cody Thomas spoke with CFWE, saying the project is putting families first within the nation, while creating affordable homes and addressing the dire need for housing within the community.

Chief Thomas says the project will be completed in five phases, creating 500 homes and providing community members with an opportunity to build a future through a “Hand up, not a handout”.
Chief Thomas highlights how members within Enoch Cree Nation can apply for one of the new homes, adding that the nation will also be guiding a pathway of learning and help for families to attain a new home.
