The Mighty Peace Basketball League gears up for its second annual Fall Classic this weekend, drawing six teams to Peace River’s Glenmary School for a full slate of games.
Two groups of three will compete on Saturday. The following day, the top two sides from each pool advance to face one another, with the winners meeting in the championship.
A team that goes undefeated will play four games in total; the two sides that finish last in their pools will still get a third contest by playing each other. Action runs all day Saturday and continues through most of Sunday, entirely at Glenmary School.
Nic Gagnon is the president of the Northern Alberta league.
According to Gagnon, Winners of the Fall Classic will earn bragging rights, tournament prizes, and exclusive champion T-shirts.
