A new playground at Anzac Community School has officially opened, giving kids, parents, and neighbours a bright outdoor spot to run, climb, and spend time together.
On Wednesday, students and teachers gathered with school and division leaders, Mayor Sandy Bowman, Councillors, municipal staff, and local residents for a celebration.
After the ribbon was cut, students wasted no time becoming the first official explorers of the equipment—launching what many hope will be years of shared fun and connection.
The project began with the Anzac School Council. Their steady push helped move funding for a full playground replacement into the municipality’s 2025 capital plans, turning an idea into reality.
What stands there now is more than a set of swings and slides.
The design offers a range of features meant for active play, discovery, and enjoyment by children of varying ages and abilities.
Beyond the play value, the space signals a continued focus on building stronger gathering places across the region—spots where families linger, kids burn energy, and neighbours cross paths.
