An Edmonton high school student was injured in an on-campus incident during the noon hour on Friday.
According to EPS, officers responded to an incident at Jasper Place High School. One student was treated and taken to hospital with undetermined injuries. No additional injuries have been reported at this time. The school and neighboring schools were placed on lockdown or alert as a precaution.
A suspect was located nearby and was taken into custody.
“The division takes incidents like this very seriously and the safety of students and staff is our top priority,” an Edmonton Public Schools spokesperson said.
