The Alberta RCMP is warning residents about several scams that tend to occur during spring and summer. One common scam involves asphalt and paving. Scammers may claim they are working on a nearby project and offer quick, easy jobs.
Corporal Troy Savinkoff, Public Information Officer with the Alberta RCMP, tells Raven Radio Network that these scammers primarily target rural residents.
Savinkoff also advised that if individuals are uncertain about a job offer, they should verify the credentials of the employer and never accept a job without a proper contract.
