The Calgary Food Bank says demand for food hampers is rising as Easter fast approaches, with several hundred households within the city turning towards the food bank everyday.
Mellissa From, President and CEO of the Calgary Food Bank tells the Raven Radio Network, the demand for food hampers rises during the holidays as the organization works to help feed families across the city of Calgary year-round.
With the new downtown location opening up in December 2025, From says the Calgary Food Bank expects to be serving 950 households a day in the coming months.
From highlights the non-perishable food items that the Calgary Food Bank is in need of, along with a high demand for baby essentials such as diapers and formula.
