89.3 The Raven News Reporter Johanna Luna talks with Founder Angus Anderson from the Anderson Foundation bringing awareness to cancer here in Edmonton.
The Anderson Foundation is dedicated to raising funds for cancer research and supporting those affected by the disease. Cancer affects many Canadians. Angus Anderson’s cancer journey began in September 2019 with severe dental injuries, including two broken bone fragments in his jaw and the loss of six teeth.
This led to job loss and significant out-of-pocket expenses for dental treatments. In August 2020, Angus began experiencing urinary difficulties, initially dismissed by walk-in clinics as an overactive bladder. By August 2021, his symptoms worsened, with frequent, painful urination and blood in his urine. Misdiagnoses and ineffective treatments from various doctors only added to his frustration and suffering.
