The City of Spruce Grove and the Town of Stony Plain issued fire advisories on Wednesday due to dry, windy conditions and increased fire risk.
Open burning is not permitted in either community, and no new open burn permits will be issued until conditions improve.
Backyard fires are permitted only in approved fire pits by residents who have been issued permits from each community.
CSA approved appliances designed for cooking or heating, such as barbecues, patio heaters, and pellet smokers are still permitted.
The fire advisories may be upgraded to full fire bans on short notice.
