
Alberta Health Services (AHS) is issuing a notice of a person with confirmed measles in the Edmonton Zone who has been in a public setting while infectious.
Individuals who were in the following locations during the specified dates and times may have been exposed to measles:
Location: Air Canada #173 on September 10: Flight departed 3:44 p.m. (MDT) from Gate D31, Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) arriving at Edmonton International Airport (YEG) Gate D62 at 7:30 p.m. (MDT).
Also, individuals at the Edmonton International Airport specifically the domestic terminal, Gate D62 and baggage claim area on September 10 from 7:30 p.m. – 10:15 p.m. (MDT) may have been exposed.
Anyone who attended these locations at these times, who was born in or after 1970 and has less than two documented doses of measles-containing vaccine, may be at risk for developing measles.
AHS said individuals should self-monitor for symptoms of measles and are strongly encouraged to review their immunization records.
Measles is an extremely contagious disease and the virus spreads easily through the air.
