Looking for a safe and affordable way to buy, sell, or donate a bike?
The Edmonton Bike Swap is back this Sunday, September 7, 2025, this 1 day nonprofit event is all about making cycling accessible while giving back to the community.
Why It Matters
In my conversation with Chris from Alberta Bike Swap, he emphasized the heart behind this event: it’s not just about bikes, it’s about community. Every bike is tech-checked, serial number verified, and screened to prevent stolen goods from slipping through, making it one of the safest places to purchase a used bike in Alberta.
The impact is huge: over half of the proceeds go back into local programs like Sports Central and Bike Edmonton, ensuring more kids and families have access to safe, reliable bikes. As Chris shared, the swap has become a lifeline for families looking for affordable options and for cyclists who want to know their purchase is making a difference.

How It Works
-
Bike Intake (8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) – Sellers bring bikes for safety checks and registration.
-
Stolen Bike Check (2:00 to 2:30 p.m.) – Police reports of stolen bikes are cross-referenced with the inventory.
-
Bike Sale (2:30 to 5:00 p.m.) – Buyers can choose from hundreds of safe-to-ride bikes. A $2 admission fee helps cover repair costs for donated bikes.
Community Impact
If you have a bike you no longer want, you can donate the bike (adult or kids) and that goes to benefit Children’s Bike Drive for Sports Central and Adult Bike Drive for Bike Edmonton.
