An aircraft incident at Edmonton International Airport (YEG) prevented planes from taking off and landing for a few hours Tuesday night.
In a post to social media, YEG said an incident occurred on the runway while landing.
“An aircraft incident upon landing has occurred at YEG. There are no injuries reported. No flights are landing or taking off at YEG at this time,” the post said.
In an update 25 minutes later, YEG said the aircraft had been removed from the runway.
“The aircraft has been safely removed and the runway has reopened,” said the post.
It is unclear what caused the incident but airport operations are back to normal.
