The Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival – the largest and longest-running event of its kind in North America — is back, bringing a burst of creativity and community to the heart of our city.
This year’s festival features:
- 1,600 artists from nine countries
- 40 venues across Edmonton
- 223 theatre productions
- A dedicated Kids Fringe area for family-friendly fun
- Over 1,000 volunteers working behind the scenes to make the magic happen
For performers like Chase, who has been part of the Edmonton Fringe for over a decade, the festival is a “can’t miss” event. He travels all the way from Orlando, Florida, calling Edmonton one of the main “tentpole” stops on the North American Fringe circuit.
Fringe Theatre, the non-profit behind the festival, exists to provide artists with the resources, platforms, and stages they need to share their work. As Erin from the Fringe shared, community support is what keeps the festival thriving. Last year, they welcomed 500 new monthly donors and they hope to match that this year. Monthly donors who join before August 31 will even get early access to tickets for the 2026 festival.
Whether you’re here for cutting-edge theatre, street performances, family fun, or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the Edmonton Fringe is the place to be this August.
📅 Festival runs until August 24th
