Police say they have arrested a man who was wanted for a murder that took place on Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation in June.
Branden Munro was arrested in B.C. on June 29 and charged with the second-degree murder of Isiah Cordell Cardinal, according to a statement from RCMP.
Mounties began looking for the 35-year-old man on June 26. Munroe has been remanded into custody and will be transported back to Alberta where an additional hearing will take place to determine his next court appearance.
The Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit is still investigating the homicide.
Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation is about 315 kilometres northwest of Edmonton.
