This week on the Raven Morning Show, I had the absolute pleasure of talking with Aysanabee — the incredible Oji-Cree singer-songwriter whose voice is as unforgettable as the stories he tells.
Aysanabee isn’t just performing, he’s part of a generation of Indigenous artists reshaping what mainstream music looks and sounds like. His voice carries both power and purpose. It was an honour to speak with him, and I can’t wait to see him live at Edmonton Folk Fest! Let’s just say… this man brings soul to the stage and then some. We will have more from him on Indigenous People’s day June 21st – Voices of Our People feature on The Raven!

I also put Aysanabee through a quick round of “This or That” where he had to choose between things like:
- Late-night writing or early-morning sessions?
- Festival crowds or intimate venues?
- And more….
(You’ll have to listen to find out his answers)
