A new youth-focused health clinic has opened in West Edmonton Mall, aiming to improve access to mental and physical health services for youth.
Kickstand, a youth wellness hub, launched its first primary care clinic inside the mall on Wednesday. The clinic offers walk-in and appointment-based services for individuals aged 11 to 25, including mental health support, physical health care, and social services.
The initiative is a collaboration between Kickstand, Alberta Health Services, and other community partners. The clinic is located near Entrance 40 and is open six days a week.
Organizers say the mall location was chosen to make services more accessible and reduce stigma around seeking help.
This is Kickstand’s third hub in Alberta, with others operating in Edmonton and Calgary.
The Raven spoke with some people running the organization about the benefits and importance of the hub as well as the new Primary Care addition.
