The next phase of the City of Leduc’s Willow Park renewal project will begin on Tuesday, May 20th.
According to the city, work will involve major road and sidewalk reconstruction in the downtown neighborhood and will provide major upgrades for the area’s aging road infrastructure.
The City notes that reconstruction efforts will ensure continued stability and safety for years to come.
Additionally, water main work will be completed on 51st Avenue, and stormwater infrastructure upgrades will take place on 54th Avenue and 51st Street to improve drainage in the area as identified by the “Stormwater Master Plan”.
Willow Park residents can expect full road closures starting Tuesday on 51st Avenue, between 51st and 50th Streets, 54th Avenue, between 51st and 50th Streets, and 54th Avenue, along a small portion east of 50th Street. A single-lane closure will also be in effect in the northbound, right-hand lane of 50th Street at the 54th Avenue intersection.
There will be temporary impacts to street parking, access to driveways, mail delivery, and bussing to complete the work as efficiently as possible. Residents in the area are encouraged to watch for signage and additional details from the contractor.
