Alberta RCMP have laid charges in connection with the Feb. 7, 2025 fatal shooting on 600 Signal Road in Fort McMurray.
The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Edmonton resident Junior Ashu.
On May 15 the Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit with the assistance of the St. Albert RCMP Detachment arrested 26-year-old Edmonton resident Andrew Barnett.
Barnett has been charged with first-degree-murder.
Barnett has been taken before a Justice of the Peace and remanded into custody with his next court date set for May 28 at the Alberta Court of Justice in Fort McMurray.
