
A substitute educational assistant has been charged with sexual offences involving a student in Fort Saskatchewan last year.
Emily Toomey, 22, has been charged with sexual interference and sexual assault.
Mounties say they received information about a sexual relationship between a student and a substitute educational assistant on April 28.
The investigation revealed the relationship began at SouthPointe School in Fort Saskatchewan last year, police said in a news release on Thursday.
Toomey has been released with conditions and she is scheduled to appear in court in Fort Saskatchewan on May 8.
Police added there is no indication there are additional victims.
