With the start of the new month, Alberta announced an increase in measles cases with 23 new as of Thursday.
19 of the new cases were reported in the south zone, three cases were reported in the central zone and one was reported in the north zone.
That brings the total number of measles cases reported in the outbreak to 193. The province said 18 of those are known to be active, meaning they could infect others.
The province said anyone who thinks they or their child has been exposed to measles should call 811 before visiting a hospital or health-care centre.
