
Free vision clinics is underway this week in Maskwacîs at the, One Sight and Lens Crafters are offering eye exams and prescription glasses to students from the Maskwacîs Education Schools Commission (MESC). Running from April 28 to May 2, 2025, the initiative is part of the “Clear Vision, Bright Future” program, a collaboration between MESC, Operation Eyesight, and the EssilorLuxottica Foundation. The program aims to address vision health needs among students through a structured five-phase approach, culminating in this week’s optometry exams.
The clinic provides professional eye exams to help detect and treat vision problems early. Students who require corrective lenses will receive them at no cost during the final phase of the program, scheduled from May 30 to June 20, 2025. Parents are encouraged to return consent forms promptly to ensure their children benefit from these services.
This initiative underscores the importance of accessible eye care in supporting students’ academic success and overall well-being. By bringing essential vision services directly to the community, the program aims to eliminate barriers to eye health and promote a brighter future for Maskwacîs students.
