There will be a temporary shut down of all traffic at the intersection of Stony Plain Road and 124 Street to allow for LRT construction.
On or around April 22, 2025, to accommodate Valley Line West LRT construction, the intersection will be temporarily fully closed to vehicular traffic for approximately eight weeks.
The company responsible for doing the LRT expansion says some of the work will include removal of sidewalks and roadways to accommodate underground utility work, as well as the installation of tree pits, streetlights, traffic signals, track slab, and new curbs, sidewalks and pavement.
No vehicle traffic will be permitted through this intersection during this time and traffic will be detoured around this intersection.
Parking bans will also be in place on 104 Avenue, 105 Avenue, and 123 Street. Pedestrian access will be maintained however, detours will be in place.
Construction will take place mostly between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Monday to Saturday, and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some overnight work may also be required.
