Thirty years ago, Susan Aglukark changed the Canadian music landscape with This Child, an album that blended folk, pop, and Inuit storytelling into a groundbreaking and deeply personal musical experience. Songs like “O Siem” and “Hina Na Ho (Celebration)” broke barriers, bringing Indigenous perspectives into the mainstream and earning Aglukark multiple Juno Awards and a place in Canadian music history. Now, she is celebrating the album’s 30th anniversary with a cross-country tour, including a stop at Fort Saskatchewan’s Dow Centennial Centre Shell Theatre on March 27.
