A north-side pawn shop caught fire early Sunday morning, forcing crews to battle the blaze through cold weather for several hours.
The building where the fire broke out was home to the Avenue Trading Post pawn shop and several other small businesses.
In a press release, Justin Knapik, district chief Edmonton Fire said the call came in around 4:45 a.m.
11 crews and nine trucks responded to the blaze.
The temperature in the Edmonton area was about -33 with the wind chill.
