This year’s award nominees for the 2025 Juno awards feature prominent stars and up and coming artists across the board.
In total there are 208 nominees, 67 of them being first timers at this year’s awards being held March 30th at Rogers Arena in Vancouver.
Calgary’s own Tate McRae co-leads this year’s JUNO nominations with a total of five. Country artist Josh Ross, one of Canada’s most promising singer-songwriter-performers, ties McRae, co-leading with five nominations. Shawn Mendes and The Weeknd follow with four nominations each.
Indigenous artists are also heavily featured in this year’s Juno Awards.
Traditional Indigenous artist or group of the year and and contemporary Indigenous artist or group of the year are two of the main categories featuring Indigenous artists.
Some of the Indigenous groups nominated include Northern Cree, Black Bear Singers, Celeigh Cardinal and Snotty Nose Rez Kids.

This year’s Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductees have also been nominated, including Sum 41 who are nominated for two Awards and Loreena McKennitt who is nominated for Traditional Roots Album of the Year.
This year also marks the inaugural South Asian Music Recording of the Year Award features nominees including AP Dhillon, Chani Nattan, Inderpal Moga & Jazzy B, Jonita Gandhi, Karan Aujla and Yanchan Produced & Sandeep Narayan.
MusiCounts, Canada’s music education charity associated with CARAS and The JUNO Awards, will recognize one Canadian music educator’s impact not only on students but also on their community and the music education field, through the MusiCounts Teacher of the Year Award, presented by Anthem Entertainment. The 2025 nominees are:

- Robert Colbourne – Holy Heart of Mary Regional High School, St. John’s, NL
- Emily Dominey – Dundas Valley Secondary School, Hamilton, ON
- Jeannie Hunter – Nepean High School, Ottawa, ON
- Drew Van Allen – Nakoda Elementary School, Mînî Thnî, AB
