An 53-year old Edmonton man who is a sonographer at a local clinic is facing a sexual assault charge.
In mid 2024, police became aware that the accused had sexually assaulted a female patient while he administered medical imaging at an ultrasound clinic in Southeast Edmonton.
Following an investigation by the EPS, Aasim Syed Ahmed, 53 was charged with one count of sexual assault on Aug. 12, 2024.

Investigators now believe Ahmed is still practicing as a sonographer, and there may be other patients who have been subject to sexual abuse while receiving medical care from the accused.
Police are encouraging anyone who has been targeted by the accused to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone.
