From MacEwan to the Netherworld, Julia Sunay Brings Beetlejuice The Musical Home to Edmonton

If you’re a fan of Broadway and all things strange and unusual, you’re in for a treat. Beetlejuice The Musical, the Tony-nominated smash hit based on Tim Burton’s cult classic, is coming to Edmonton from January 14 to 19, at the Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium. And at the helm of the first U.S. Broadway National Tour as Music Director and Conductor is none other than Julia Sunay, a proud alumna of Edmonton’s own MacEwan University Theatre Arts program.

We had the chance to sit down with Julia to talk about her journey from MacEwan to Broadway, her experience working on this zany and electrifying production, and what it means to bring the Netherworld to her hometown.
