
Police in Wetaskiwin asked people within the community to shelter in place as crews dealt with an incident.
Wetaskiwin RCMP advised people living along Township Road 441 between Range Road 224 and Highway 822, about 35 kilometers southeast of the city of Wetaskiwin, to shelter in place while they respond to an active event involving a person believed to have firearms.
During the order, police said nearby residents should stay inside their homes, lock their doors and stay away from windows.
The advisory was over early Tuesday morning with no further detail.
