Four people were hospitalized and two people seriously injured following a North Edmonton collision on Sunday evening.
According to an Edmonton Police spokesperson, the driver of a Toyota Prius ran a red light at 82 Street while travelling east on 132 Avenue which resulted in a collision with a Hyundai Elantra.
According to Edmonton Fire and Rescue Services, two people were rescued from one of the vehicles.
Both vehicles could be seen with extensive damage with one being listed as “almost in two pieces.”
Speed is believed to be a factor in the crash.
Nearby onlookers said the driver was allegedly travelling at 150KM/ hr.
Four people were hospitalized.
The are was reopened to motorists by Monday morning.
