The Edmonton Police Service is currently on the hunt for a man responsible for a personal robbery that left a man seriously injured ate last month.
The robbery took place on Friday, Sep 20, 2024 at approximately 1:30 p.m. near 63 Avenue and Gateway Blvd when a 59-year-old man was riding a bicycle under the Gateway Blvd bridge when a man pushed his bicycle onto the road and into traffic.
The man then fled the area, stealing the bike travelling Westbound.
Nearby citizens came to the aid of the man until EMS arrived who then treated the man and transported him to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The injuries were not considered to be serious at the time but since have been determined to have long lasting impacts. The man was released from hospital.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s who was carrying a brown backpack. The stolen bicycle was a black TREK bike, originally silver in color but spray-painted black, with a suspension fork on the front and wire baskets on the front and rear.
Police continue to search for the suspect and are asking anyone who witnessed this robbery or was driving in the area at the time with an active dash camera to come forward. Police are looking to speak with the citizens who came to he mans aid in hopes of obtaining possible information.
