Crime Stoppers and Edmonton Police have launched a new campaign encouraging everyone to report hate crimes.
Starting Wednesday, some transit vehicles will start having advertisements stating “See hate. Report hate.” as well as the phone numbers of Crime Stoppers and EPS attached.
Crime Stoppers, which is a charitable not-for-profit organization that receives anonymous tips, said it is trying to help people who don’t feel comfortable reporting hate.
The program won’t ask for personal or voice identification ensuring anyone who does report a hate crime will remain anonymous.
