The Enoch Cree Nation continue to take steps forward economically with a new luxury hotel expansion at the River Cree Resort and Casino.
The new building will include 230 hotel rooms, 40,000 square feet of event space, new pool and 2 waterslides.
The project is expected to bring more jobs in for band members and Indigenous people in the Edmonton region, Chief Cody Thomas spoke with media following the announcement and hopes other nations across Alberta and Canada can use the work Enoch’s done as a means of inspiration.
Vik Mahajan is the CEO of the River Cree Resort & Casino. He’s been with the resort since 2013 and says the relationship between the resort and the Nation continues to grow every day, ensuring no matter what new project comes their way, it will stay true to Indigenous culture and respect the great history.
The expansion is expected to finish in spring 2027.
