The Leftovers Foundation will be celebrating another year of keeping good food moving to people who need it most with the 2024 Leftovers Food Rescue Fun Fair on July 13th at the Rundle Family Centre from 12-4PM.
Jocelyn Herbert, funds development manager for Leftovers Foundation speaks on what attendees can expect at this years Fun Fair, which will include a mini carnival, BBQ and entertainment.
Herbert speaks on how the Leftovers Foundation started in 2012, Founder Lourdes Juan stuffing 40 bags of bread into my Honda Civic has turned into more than 2 million pounds of food rescued from the landfill.

Herbert says the goal is to raise five thousand dollars which will be able to save the service agency partners that work with the Leftovers Foundation that contribute to the community, which will save them 33,000 dollars in food costs.
Herbert adds that the importance of the event is to raise awareness to the community of the amount of food being wasted, and how to reduce that amount and by donating that food to people that face food insecurity.
