Crews are dealing with an out-of-control wildfire near Fort McMurray.
As of 9am, the wildfire burning 28km southwest of the city was 25 hectares in size. The Fort McMurray area is under an ‘extreme’ wildfire danger, according to Alberta Wildfires.
Northern Alberta has seen a lack of rain overall, with a fire ban implemented in the Grande Prairie region as well.
Alberta currently has 41 active wildfires, the only one out of control is the fire near Fort McMurray.
