Following the shooting, both men left the scene without calling 9-1-1. The Bilodeau’s claimed Cardinal and Sansom were targeting their property for a robbery.
The Parole Board of Canada granted Roger Bilodeau day parole and denied the request for full parole. The decision was made based on his lack of a criminal history and willingness to work with authorities.

- no direct or indirect contact with any members of the victims’ family;
- participate in counselling; and
- a curfew to be imposed by a parole officer.
Roger Bilodeau will service his day parole at a community based facility for the next six months.
