A woman who fell out of a City of Edmonton Bus has passed away.
The woman sustained life-threating injuries after she fell out of a moving bus on Friday, December December 29th. EPS say the woman was in a bus heading south on 174 Street at 3pm when she stood and moved towards the back doors as the bus took a turn on 95th Ave.
According to police, the woman was holding on to the safety bar but lost her balance causing her to fall backwards and out of the bus.
Edmonton Transit said in a statement issued Sunday that the doors on buses lock when in motion, but the glass on the doors broke when the woman fell into them, which is what caused her to fall out of the bus.
The woman was transported to hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
