Holiday shopping was halted at West Edmonton Mall on Saturday afternoon following reports of a male with a gun.
The mall issued a social media post at 3:41pm saying it was in lockdown and people should remain in the closest secure location.
The warning was lifted shortly after 4pm.
Police say in a news release that the parties involved in the weapons complaint were found and taken into custody, adding charges are pending.
They say no shots were fired and there is no threat to the public.
