The Confederacy of Treaty No. 6 have appointed their new Grand Chief, Cody Thomas.
Chief Thomas will succeed Chief Desmond Bull. Thomas’s tenure will begin on December 1st and will be officially confirmed in the office at a transfer ceremony later in December.
Cody Thomas was elected as Chief the Enoch Cree Nation on June 24th, 2022. Before being elected Thomas served as a councilman from 2019-2022.
Grand Chief Thomas’s priorities will include economic development, sovereignty, language revitalization, promoting cultural knowledge and much more.
