Keyano College and the Métis Nation of Alberta have come together to create a new $1 Million Métis Education Fund.
$500,000 was donated to the college from the Alberta Métis Education Foundation and the Rupertland Institute. The funding cater to Métis students and provide financial aid to help with the cost of schooling.
Both groups hope the new fund will encourage more Métis students to enrol in post-secondary education and create change within Wood Buffalo.
Student awards for the 23/24 school year will be sent out this spring.
