The University of Alberta Faculty of Native Studies hosted a series of performances showcasing the great history of Indigenous Culture.
Some of the performances included drummers, a puppet show with Dorothy Thunder, a reading by Norma Dunning, a hoop dance performance by Dallas Arcand, a performance by Métis fiddler Zach Willier, and a closing performance by two drag queens from the Indigi-Hauz of Beaver Hills: Etherea and Dana.
Jordan Cook is the communications partner for the Faculty of Native Studies and said she hopes people can find the beauty in Indigenous culture rather than focus on the negatives.
Amanda Evans is a Metis citizen and PhD student with the Faculty of Native Studies and had this to say when asked what June means to her.
