Yes, you read it correctly. Gene Principe (the voice of the Edmonton Oilers) has teamed up with local hip-hop veterans Chu The Producer and Rellik to write and record an anthem for Oil City as they begin their quest for the Stanley Cup.
Chu and Gene had worked together twice previously, but in this iteration of the collaboration, they wanted to bring more energy and make it a song for the people. They did this by injecting 10x Award winning Edmonton Hip Hop artist Rellik to start off the song with an energy that only he can muster.
“In Stanley We Trust” captures Edmonton’s yearning to be the last one standing and reclaim the title of City of Champions. Let’s Go Oilers!
