On Tuesday, history was made at Peerless Trout First Nation as an agreement was signed to support the Founding First Nations having authority over their own child and family services, a first for Alberta.
Chief Gilbert Okemow of the Peerless Trout First Nation spoke about the agreement, the member nations, and who was all involved with making it a reality.
Mark Cardinal with Peerless Trout First Nation spoke about the importance of what the agreement will bring to all the First Nations that signed onto it.
